As brand new suppliers to NMBS we have developed a retail range of architecturally specified door hardware and door security products which have been tested to relevant standards such as Secured by Design and BSi Kitemark. The range includes door knockers, door viewers, letterplates, euro cylinders, mortice locks, letters and numerals, door chains, door handles, identity card slots, window restrictors and sash jammers. All of these are available in high impact yellow and black blister packaging.
Has the BBC created a new market opportunity for security cylinders?
Last month the BBC programme Inside Out featured a lengthy documentary on Lock Snapping and general cylinder vulnerability. My view of this is well known as I believe it was irresponsible and the people behind this release to the BBC were not motivated by concerns over the public’s safety but just motivated by pure greed. The question of cylinder vulnerability has now been featured on 5 Live, Local Newspapers and we are advised it will feature heavily nationally on 19th March on BBC’s The One Show.
The British Standard Kitemark is one of the most recognised quality and safety symbols in the world and offers true value to consumers. And at UAP, we are now proud to announce that our Zero Lift Cylinders have been awarded this standard, making them the cheapest Kitemark range on the market.
The Zero Lift range passed EN1303:2005 testing, and the BS3621 General Vulnerability Assessment. Following their success in testing, the cylinders were approved by Secured by Design for the Police accreditation scheme. The cylinders have now been tested by the BSI group, and they meet all relevant British, European and International standards and specifications. This is definitely something worth shouting about as Kitemark reassures manufacturers and customers that vital performance requirements have been met with a visible confirmation of quality.
