Fortify your Fire Doors this September for Fire Door Safety Week | Tradelocks

Fire Door Safety Week begins on Monday 20th September

Every year, UAP and Tradelocks show support for Fire Door Safety Week (FDSW), which raises awareness for proper fire door maintenance and prevention of fires. 2021’S Fire Door Safety Week runs from the 20th to the 26th of September.

About Fire Door Safety Week

FDSW aims to highlight key industry issues and provide a wealth of fire door information and guidance for free in the hopes of saving lives from preventable fires. They offer a Fire Door Safety Week Toolkit, offering tips, information and resources on how to improve fire safety in residential and commercial builds.

The organisation is managed by the British Woodworking Federation Group and supported by a number of partners, including the Home Office’s National Fire Safety campaign, the National Fire Chief’s Council, and London Fire Brigade.

“It’s crucial to understand the factors that ensure a fire door performs as intended – product manufacture, quality, installation and maintenance all play a part. Their correct specification, maintenance and management can be the difference between life and death for building occupants” – FDSW

Make Sure your Fire Door Isn’t Neglected with UAP

Our parent company, UAP, provides everything you need to update your fire door and ensure it’s in full working order. We recommend using FDSW’s Five Step Fire Door Check to assess your fire door and how you can make it safer.

Our Range of Fire Door & Fire-Rated Hardware

UAP’s fire-safe and Certifire assured hardware products are now collected under the Firemongery range, which includes our TS008 Soterian letterplate, the popular Kinetica 3 Star cylinder, the Fullex Slam Shut Autolock, and a full range of handles, hinges, door security features and other door furniture. View our Firemongery brand at uapcorporate.com or shop all fire-rated hardware at uapstore.com.

It’s also important to remember that if you suspect the building you’re living in, working in or visiting has a faulty fire door, report it to whoever manages or owns the building. This could be lifesaving!
