It’s National Home Security Month – Secure your Home with Tradelocks

Break ins increase in colder months

As the days get shorter and the darker nights approach, it’s important to keep your home safe and secure from potential burglaries. Break-ins are more likely to happen in the dark where the perpetrator is less likely to be seen, so it’s a good time to step up your home security in the autumn months.

Upgrade your Cylinder Locks

Make sure your external doors are fitted with high quality locks with added security features that prevent lock bumping, cylinder snapping, picking, and other common forced entry techniques.

The new Kinetica+ K4 by Fullex is our most secure cylinder yet, featuring cutting edge, “game changing” technology.

“Kinetica+ K4 is different. Its two-part cam system doesn’t operate like others do. It works intelligently, so that the defence system only gets mobilised once the cylinder is attacked. And if it does get attacked, the patented system gives intruders little to grip or turn. Super-secure technology that changes the way doors are protected, with not just one, but two lines of defence at the heart of the cylinder’s superior protection.”

Secure to your External Doors

Adding extra layers of defence to the external doors in your home can help to secure them further.

Installing a high-quality door chain allows you to speak to a caller before or without opening the door fully, but makes it difficult for an intruder to force their way in. Our door chains are designed to withstand forces of up to 20,000 Kn (200kg), deflecting opportunistic intruders.

Adding a door viewer to your front door can also let you know who’s calling before you open the door. We provide 360-degree door viewers to give you the best possible view of what’s outside.

We always recommend that you check the identity of any unknown callers before opening the door to them.

Consider your Window Security

It’s vital that you don’t forget your window security – they’re an entrance to your home, just like your external doors. Window locks and window restrictors are designed to lock and limit how much a window can open to prevent intruders from using them to gain access.
