3-star rated Euro cylinders provide the highest security level available. They can defend against all the most common methods of forced entry, including cylinder snapping, picking and bumping – these defence methods are essential. It’s important to also consider a lock’s fire rating – quality Euro cylinder locks will be fire rated up to 60 minutes.
3-star Euro cylinders can also be combined with other hardware with star ratings for top-tier security; similarly, a lower rated cylinder can be combined with 3-star door hardware to make a solution with a cumulative rating of 3-star. It is recommended, however, to install a Euro cylinder lock with the highest security rating available.

When considering which lock to buy and install, look out for the BSI Kitemark logo (British Standards Institute). Locks that display the Kitemark are certified to have been tested to a high standard.
Other accreditations to look for in a quality Euro cylinder lock are Secured by Design, PAS24, Document Q, and Sold Secure Diamond.
